I'm back from Big Sky, MT... from another CPSC Big Trip. Yeah, I said last year was my last, but blame it on Mike, Andrew, and Rambo for talking me into another trip. And I'm going to say it again, but this was my last one. One footnote however... this was Andrew's 9th trip, and he says he wants to finish on 10, so I might get handcuffed and dragged on one more to make his dream come true. With that being said, here's the details from this year's trip to Big Sky, Montana.
Last year, I flew up to Vancouver and the took the shuttle to Whistler. So when it came to this trip, I wanted to fly but it would have cost me over $600 just to fly so I said fuck it, I'll take the bus... a long ass bus ride. Megan Murphy was in charge of the bus so that was a bonus. So was the Mardi Gras bus theme. The 24 hour ride actually went by fast after having a couple drinks, playing a few rounds of Power Hour, and other standard bus activities.
Once we got to Montana we learned that they got 15" over the last couple of days so that was good. The snow wasn't too bad (for the parts that were open). Only about 30% of the mountain was open so we had to watch out for the rocks.
Everyone in our condo was cool as usual. We had one of the best condos, with a hot tub inside of the condo! Monday was the opening party, which was pretty fun. Tuesday, we went snowmobiling in West Yellowstone. We went all day from 8am-5pm with all of the Echo Tours staff. My snowmobile had 0.5 miles on the odometer! Brand New!!! They were putting the stickers on each snowmobile as we were waiting to get started! This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip!
Tuesday was the pub crawl. Not too bad except for the time were I tripped on a stair :( Wednesday, we got out to the snow around noon. We had a big party at our place on Wed night. Andrew ended up buying the condo a keg as a thank you gift for all the memorable years! Thanks dude! Mike woke up the next morning and was surprised to see a keg shell in the kitchen... "Dude, did we have a keg last night? Where'd that come from?"
The bus ride back was also pretty fun. After Murphy got a concussion on broom ball night, she had a hard time leading by example and drinking since she was on pain killers. So I had to dust off my old bus rep skills :) No prob, we did some boat races, power hour, and made it through the bus ride with no puking!
So I said this was my last bus trip. My last big trip. I have a feeling that I'll be handcuffed and dragged on one more. We'll see!
I'll be in Mammoth the week after new year's with Papy's Adventures if anyone wants to join me. They just got 25" from the last storm!
