ASI Executive Staff Position Descriptions 1998-1999
General Executive Staff Requirements:
- Weekly Meetings
- Quarterly Retreats
- Monthly Meetings with ASI President and Executive Vice President
- Monthly written reports to Board of Directors and Corporation at Large
- 2 Office Hours a Week
- 2 Club Visits a Quarter
- Initiate new and exciting programs/ideas
- Excellence in Serving the Cal Poly Student Body
- A big wonderful SMILE!!!
Outreach and Recruitment
- Organize Quarterly ASI involvement drives
- Coordinate ASI outreach visits with Clubs and Organizations
- Coordinate Quarterly Executive Cabinet
- Work with Board of Directors interested in Outreach
- Work with other executive staffers to "Get the Info Out there"
Communications
- BI-weekly Press release to Telegram Tribune, Mustang Daily, KCPR, ect. about latest and greatest ASI news
- Serve as SOLE contact person for all media inquires (route the press...:)
- Prepare Special Press Release for big news
- Monitor media coverage of ASI
- Read and Reply to E-mail questions
Mustang Messenger
- BI-weekly publication of the MM
- Actively seek out Club info for the MM
- Bio. ASI student Leader for MM
- Bio. ASI staff member for MM
Stock and Distribute MM across campus (including info kiosks)
Residence Halls
- Attend IHC meetings as needed
- Organize quarterly ASI -Res. Hall events
- Chair ASI-Hall Council and Publish Stall News
- Work with Outreach and Recruitment Staffer to get Hallers involved!!!
Greek
- Serve as ASI Pres. rep to IFC and Panhellenic
- Organize Quarterly ASI-Greek events
- Monthly Meeting with IFC President and Vice President, and Panhellenic Pres. and Vice Pres.
- Be official ASI contact for all Greeks
Human Resources
- Recognize outstanding Student Leaders (pens, certificates...you get the idea!)
- Birthday Cards for ASI student Volunteers
- Work with KC to establish recognition for student and full time employees
- Organize monthly executive staff social
- Organize quarterly ASI event with Finance, F&O, Board, Employees...sky’s the limit
Academic
- Official ASI rep to Academic Senate
- Admister/work on implemntation of Course Evaluations
Community
- Attend City Council meeting as ASI student rep!!!
- Sit on SCLC
- Establish relationship with RQN
- Attend Chamber of Commerce
- SLO student discount card!!!
Special Projects
- Publish ASI student directories
- Coordinate ASI Advisory Council with Business office
- Training of new ASI volunteers
- Projects as they come up!
Athletics
- ASI rep to Block P meetings
- ASI rep to Sports Club Council
- Work with Athletics to promote ALL Cal Poly Home games
- Organize recognition ceremony for Student Athletes (Inter-collegiate and Club)
University Relations
- Track all modification and introduction of new University Polices
- Serve as contact for any questions or needs of university wide committee chairs and appointees
Legislative/ State Wide Representation
- California State Students Association Representative
Clubs and Organizations
- Work with Clubs to Produce and Link Club Web Pages
- BI-annual club president summit
Surveys and Opinion
- Develop and administer Quarterly Opinion Poll/survey
- Tabulate Data and Publish results!!!
